Navigating the Skies of Success: Managing Airline Business Reward Programmes

In the highly competitive airline industry, customer loyalty is paramount. Frequent flyers, particularly business travellers, represent a significant revenue stream for airlines. To capture and retain that segment, airlines have developed sophisticated business reward programmes. Among the leaders are British Airways' BA on Business and Emirates Business Rewards, both designed to offer substantial benefits to corporate clients, incentivising loyalty and optimising travel expenditure.

BA on Business

British Airways' BA on Business is tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises. The structure is simple but effective, focusing on value through travel savings and exclusive benefits. It's free to join and open to companies of all sizes.

  • Earning points. All colleagues within a company earn On Business Points when travelling for business on American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia, redeemable for reward flights and upgrades.
  • Tiers and benefits. Three tiers - On1, On2 and On3. As companies spend more on travel they climb the tiers, unlocking greater rewards and privileges such as priority boarding and lounge access.
  • Dual benefits. Executive Club members continue collecting Avios for themselves while earning On Business Points for the business at the same time, maximising the return for both.

Emirates Business Rewards

Emirates Business Rewards is a corporate loyalty programme open to organisations of all sizes worldwide, covering over 130 destinations.

  • Earning and redeeming points. Whenever employees fly with Emirates, in any cabin, the organisation earns Business Rewards Points, redeemable against future flights or upgrades. Add the membership number to the booking and points are credited automatically.
  • Corporate and individual benefits. As with BA on Business, employees earn Skywards Miles personally while the company earns Business Rewards Points - and miles accrue across a growing list of travel, dining and retail partners.
  • Flexible enrolment. There is no minimum spend to join, making it accessible to businesses of any size.

How Chapman & Carter integrate reward programmes

It's no wonder major airlines encourage customers to join their loyalty programmes. But managing them can be time-consuming and costly, which is why we integrate these programmes directly into our booking flow.

Effective management of programmes like BA on Business and Emirates Business Rewards leads to significant savings and better travel experiences. By centralising bookings, aligning travel policy with programme benefits, and engaging employees, companies maximise what they earn back. Whether it's the tiered structure of BA on Business or the flexible approach of Emirates Business Rewards, a well-managed programme turns spend you were making anyway into value.
